Ok, so it's not the grandest news, but finally OSU is getting in gear & playing big guns. 2008-09 we play USC and I heard a rumor today OSU is in negotiations with Georgia for 08-09 as well. 10-11 It's down in Miami. Ok, well......I know........Miami Who? Hopefully they will be back in their glory as well by then. After that, contract negotiations (am I spelling that right???) for the Big 12. Possibly Oklahoma or Nebraska. This is pretty huge for us. I'm pretty envious watching teams from down south battle it out. They are impressive. Watching the Clemson/Fla St. game the other night was mind blowing. Hit after hit after hit. It's a different type of football game. I was at the OSU/Texas game here in Columbus and it was just amazing to watch.

Meanwhile, Michigan signs on Charlie's Chocolate Factory for another 70 years and Eastern Michigan. Only to find out the hard way that wimpy boy Lloyd is too afraid of playing anyone above the standards of overrated "we still think it's 1915" Notre Dame and some Michigan directional college, that when it comes time to BCS bowls, we didn't play anyone therefor Florida or App State can jump us and play for the title

Congrats to Ohio State for not being wimps, maybe that's why LLLLloyd's teams as of the last few years have been wimps.

(Only kidding on the App State part.)

those will certainly be fun games to watch. Also, even if Miami is a little down, hell, they are still miami.

Next year, UM should have scheduled only one MAC team, not two. Utah was a good choice. Ditto for Vandy last year. Play like men and at least TRY to play better teams. We could probably attract a Boise State-like team for next year.

I am looking for a new coach who is NOT afraid of strength of schedule. Even dumbing down the schedule burned Lloyd this year. We proved that our players don't take perceived lesser-quality teams too lightly. A goal line stand was all that kept Ball State from tying us last year and forcing OT.

If we want to model tough schedules, USC always plays two tough games (ND plus Nebraska this year). They will play FSU, Va Tech, etc. Doesn't seem to stress out Pete Carroll that much!

Yep next yr we head out to Pasadena with a date with USC, and 08 will be in Columbus , then a 2 yr series with the Hurricanes starting in Columbus, in 2012/11 a series with Oklahoma, 2014/15 a series with Cal.
I will be @ Dolphins stadium for th 2010 OSU/Miami game . I am glad it won't be in the run down Orange Bowl. They haven't put a coat of paint on that place since Joe Namath won a Super Bowl there.

I am just glad the pathetic Irish isn't in our Conference, the horror...........They are about to lose the only Conference they belong to , NBC is about to drop them. Thier ratings are not the greatest anymore.

I heard an interview with Bobby Bowden a few years ago and he said he is really dissapointed that MI won't go down to FSU to play. He said he tried for years to get the game, but MI wouldn't go for it. I think MI was scared after the beat down FSU gave us in AA years ago. I can still see Buckley picking off that pass and going yard. Damn he was fast.

Don't know if that could be true or not, because your 4 non-con spots are already filled for both years, unless OSU wants to break a contract.

2008: Youngstown State, Ohio, @USC, Troy
2009: Army, USC, Toledo, New Mexico St

USC + 3 cupcakes both years

2010: Marshall, Miami, @Army (WTF?!?!?!?!?!), TBA
2011: Akron, Toledo, @Miami, TBA
2012: @Cincinnati, California, TBA, TBA
2013: @California, TBA, TBA, TBA
2014: Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, TBA, TBA
2015: @ Virginia Tech, TBA, TBA, TBA

I wish we scheduled teams more than about 18 months in advance...

2008: Utah, MiamiU, @Notre Dame, Toledo
2009: Notre Dame, Western Michigan, TBA, TBA
2010: Eastern Michigan, @Notre Dame, TBA, TBA
2011: Western Michigan, Notre Dame, TBA, TBA
every year until 2031: Notre Dame

OSU won't play Georgia in 08 unless somebody moves, the schedule is full: However 09 & 10 are possibilities, here is OSU's tenative agenda so far thru 2010:

2008:
1- YSU
2- OHIO U.
3- @ USC
4- Troy

2009
1- USC
2- Toledo
3- {Georgia could go here}
4-New Mexico ST {10th game of season}

2010
1- Marshall
2- Miami, Fl.
3- TBA {Georgia may go in here}
4- TBA {or here}

As far as you're hope that Miami Hurricanes get back to their glory, I've seen some of their recruiting commits so far, and they are going to finish very high on the talent list, "if" they get all of them. Their last class was'nt too shabby either. Be careful what you wish for !
I'd just as soon see them stay somewhere in the middle of the top 25, or maybe 20-25. That way we you could get a BCS bounce from beating them, but they would'nt be too dangerous.
Just kidding, I don't care where they are ranked, I like to see OSU play the "Best" !!!

2 keep legitimacy OSU and Michigan both have 2 schedule atleast 1 big out of conference game. If OSU played Texas this year, yeah its a down year for them, but its a major program and If OSU beat WASH, TEXAS, and MICH then it would be more legitimate of a schedule.

I still can't believe UM signed ND for 20 years or whatever. Thats so rediculous and doesn't allow for any maneuverability. Silly move by your AD if you ask me.

It's tradition. If they can get rid of Chuck and get their heads out of their butts...maybe the game will start meaning something. With that said...I still love beating the crap out of them! I also love seeing them squirm at 1-8!

It's been tough at times being a Michigan fan this year. But, we can always fall back to..."at least we're not ND fans!" Or Nebraska for that matter!!!

ND is down and has been for about a decade but so have many other programs. Just because ND is down now doesnt mean they'll still suck in 10 years. Besides, its a rivaly game. UM does have more then 1 rival unlike OSU.

Man, I live in Tennessee. The vol faithful down here want that dude's head on a stick! I can't imagine he'll even make it to the 09'-10' seasons. Also, that orange "T" nauseates me!

Why do you think I like Florida. They've taken two of the teams that I despise the most and made em' their bytches!!!

I had a Poli Sci PHD guy teaching a course at OSU when I was there (he was a Rocky Topper) and he was a great guy don't get me wrong, but even back then I was like "I can't believe that guy is still your coach"

I guess they played for a championship though in the past 10 years...but seriously, I thought he'd be gone years ago

Some of my best friends are vol fans...seriously, they are!!! Most of em' are the salt of the earth...But, all the orange really annoys the hell out of me!!! They used to have a truly elitist attitude...although, it has seemed to subside somewhat lately. I wonder why??? Ha ha ha!!!

Just for fun at social gatherings...I bring up 97' and heisman Charles Woodson, then I just sit back and enjoy the fireworks!!!

FULMER

Maybe its just me, but everytime I see top recruits deciding in this region, TENN is always on the list, but TENN never gets them. I could be wrong though

Thanks for the article. I'm not sure about the recruits. But, what I love is that their women's basketball program overshadows their football program! Now that's just good stuff!!!

even though miami is not good it is still a GREAT move. People know the schedules are done far ahead of time and osu can't help how good miami is. The point is they are still a big name program and it is a good schedule.

It is the same thing with UM/ND I don't care how bad ND is it is a big win for UM every year when they win no matter what. of course it is better when it is like last year rather than this year but it is still f*cking notre dame no matter how sh*tty they are. Same thing with osu/miami, good move on osu's part.
