This would be great news, if I actually cared about women's hoops. But I'm unselfishly posting it for all the the rabid women's sports fans in this forum. Enjoy, ladies...err..I mean fellas

Wolverines hire coach from UW-Green Bay Women's hoops
April 10, 2007

Michigan is expected to announce its new women's basketball coach today.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reported on its Web site Monday night that Wisconsin-Green Bay women's coach, Kevin Borseth, will get the job, replacing Cheryl Burnett, who retired March 6.

Michigan athletic director Bill Martin confirmed the report.

Borseth, 52, has coached 20 years in college and UW-Green Bay won 26 straight games in 2006-07, finishing 29-4, the most wins in Horizon League history.

UW-Green Bay lost to Connecticut in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Borseth is 216-62 in nine years at UW-Green Bay.

A native of Bessemer, Mich., Borseth posted a record of 225-97 in 11 years at Michigan Tech before taking over at UW-Green Bay.

Thanks tMM. I think being a Michigan Woman (we wouldn't have it any other way!), she should be able to recruit well in the area and really sock it to Spartan Coach McDyke and OSU Coach Mrs. 1OSUNUT, or whatever their names are.

Edit: Ah, its a Man!!!

I always wondered how a guy can coach a ladies team. It seems to me that there would be some locker room issues. But then again, I used to date a lady college basketball player, who now coaches a Div. 1 school (no names will be revealed to protect the innocent) and modesty wasn't a part of her vocabulary when it came to sports stuff. Nor was modesty an issue among the cast members on the couple of musicals that I was in. But ladies locker rooms and co-ed dressing rooms always made me uncomfortable. So I guess I'm a prude.

In my opinion, nappy-headed ho basketball players respond better to women coaches...wait, was that offensive? If so, I apologize...

How hard is it to teach women how to play with balls?
