Ooh! Ooh! Let me be 1NUTCASE here: "No big loss. Tressel has 15 other guys twice as good as Washington ready to go at all times. We'll be even better now because of this. Reload!"

Wow, if Tressel suspended a player for an infraction that didn't involve breaking the law, it must have been very serious.

Well, that is kind of the truth because Chekwa is pretty darn good, BUT still! What the hell are these kids thinking? They have one of the greatest opportunities in their lifetimes & they're screwing with it! I'm glad they're suspended! Tired of the thugs getting away with crap.

Sweetie, if Chekwa is so "darn good" why wasn't he starting over Washington? I'm not saying OSU is phuckt now without Washington but can't you at least say it's a blow to your D? Don't be 1NUTCASE.

If the kids screwed up then they shoud sit. I have no problem with that. So much for Tressel being a push over anymore, huh. Tressel has his program on the stright and narrow and if you F' up then you pay. Timmy will do a good job back there but Washington is a loss. He let his teamates down and that is sometimes the worst punishment of all.

See? That's all you gotta say. Now you aren't being a kool aid drinking homer. That is an intelligent post.
I'm mildly surprised ol' Tress suspended someone. I'm almost more surprised that there are actually team rules.

What's wrong with saying he's a capable backup? It definitely is a blow, but Chekwa played all year as the nickel back, so he's not that green. The guy that will also get a lot of playing time is Andre Amos who was going to be pushing to take over Washingtion's starting spot until he got injured in spring practice. Also, though we will be losing him, we may be getting back Lawrence Wilson. He got hurt in the first game. He's almost as good a pass rusher as Vernon "Gun Show" Gholston.

Anyway, word is that both failed a drug test. I say, if they were more worried about getting high than working out and getting ready for the game, then good riddance.

I'll be interested to see what it is he did. Given his (Tressel's) track record of letting a few guys play in games when they most likely shouldn't have, I'm actually intrigued to see exactly what he did. It was most likely something that tied Tressel's hands.....i.e. like cheating on a test/course.

I have always felt that way. Look at the problems all around college sports. Ohio State has had very few infractions the last five years compaired to alot of schools. Sure there is the typical college student stuff like drinking and weed, but not major infractions like rape, theft and cheating scandals. I'm glad Tressel has cracked down on the kids. It's something Cooper never did either.

Given that Boone smashed into another vehicle while he was totally wasted (underage) and didn't miss a game, I'm stunned as well.

Why should he not be starting before Washington? Probably because Washington is DAMN good. Chekwa isn't at his calliber yet, but that doesn't make him a sorry player. It is a blow to the defense but you're highly intelligent post bashing Nut pretty much hit the nail on the head. OSU does have reloading. Thanks for the for that!

Thank you SB, I love when you come to my rescue.

Given a convicted drug felon was allowed to try out I am very surprised by this suspension. Must have been something serious.

Who knows, maybe JT has finally had enough and decided to crack down.

wow this reminds me of a verse from the good book some thing like: "take the plank out of your own eye before you try to remove the splinter form your friend"...

God forbid that the um is perfect never had anyone get in trouble and they are so superior to every other college out there... in fact i don't see why all the other schools don't just close thier doors and send thier students to michigan.

of course we all know that these are just um trolls bashing tOSU

Unlike the OSU trolls here, I will give credit where credit is due. JT is finally putting integrity over winning and sitting players when they f' up.

These guys are done. I remember when Eric Haw got busted for smoking herb and he never saw the field again. Tressel didn't boot him, he let him rot on the bench until he transferred. I'm guessing it will be the same with these 2.

I for one would like to see JT stick too his guns here and make an example out of these two...if it is a serious thing. For too long big time football schools have looked the other way. I hope he makes a stand, that would send the right message.

I think that is what he just did. These guys are missing the biggest game in their colliegete careers.

Well, we could have always blamed the condition of the field.

Oh you mean like the extra long cleats Tennessee used to beat you guys, a while back?

That's it. I was NOT at all referring to Um's loss and excuses from last year. How about OSU, in the event of a loss, complain about drug-sniffing dogs, or bad officiating? Would any of those work, or are they reserved for OTHER teams?

I think ever since Tressel gave Clarrett so many chances he said enough. I have a feeling these guys will be benched, then next year will come out with a clean slate & if they screw up again, Tressel will be done with them. You can't 100% blame these kids. So many people blinging in their ears that they're great, their families can be relocated, buying cars, etc. They're following by examples & when they get caught the whole world comes down on them. The Universities are hardly held accountable for. These guys deserve another chance & if they screw up again, wash your hands from them. It's sad to see they don't understand opportunities rarely come your way.

The problem I have is that 98% of the team is (hopefully) busting their asses getting ready for the game, lifting, running, studying film, etc. and these guys are blazing up, watching tv and eating Doritos (I'm drawing on personal experience). That's b.s.. Their priorities are screwed up and I don't see how losing them is going to hurt as much as everyone thinks. It doesn't sound like they are taking the whole thing seriously. If they ever get out of Tressel's doghouse, this is going to be following them for the rest of their football careers. Do you think this won't come up in every NFL interview? Idiots.
