You know what, I now would like nothing more than for OSU to goto the NC game and get thrashed by LSU; and then have Miles announce he is taking the UM job. Man that would be great for this rivalry or what . I can see another 10 year war in the making...

Refresh my memory - where did the coach of Illinois (the team that just crushed OSU's NC hopes) come from? Oh yeah, the SEC...hmm...

tressel is exposed and can not beat the SEC, let alone a coach who gets to recruit here and down south. theres no war, its a new slaughter of ohio state, its ushering in the jim "cooper" tressel era

I agree with BigBoyBlue I dfind my self (dare i say) rooting for OSU to go to the NC so they get crushed by LSU.

That would give me a little satisfaction after this dissapointing year.

Wow, we just lost and we're still saying OSU is garbage? Now I know why they call us snooty. As for me, I'm keeping my mouth shut until a year at around this time.

Yeah, history's already proven Tressel can't beat Miles. I'M ROLLING MY EYES. I think he'd be an improvement over Carr for sure, but to jubilantly raise him on your shoulders as a Buckeye killer is hilarious.

We all know next year won't be a contest, but maybe in a couple we'll see if Miles has any ability coaching the talent Carr brought aboard, as far as building long-term teams is concerned, he's never proven that and only time will tell.

Right now all I can say is it doesn't take much to coach the team he inherited.
And for the NC, Ohio State doesn't belong in the NC game, hopefully next year we will.

roll your eyes all you want, in your own little dark closet, you're hating this chain of events. no amount of lying covers it up. besides i never rode anyone about john cooper's record even down here in suckeye land, but then you pussies all showed up and will be crying soon enough. oh i'll be riding all your asses for years now.

That blatant hostility seems to indicate you're in the defensive position, not me. Worried that these 4 years are just the beginning? Poor guy.

ByeByeLloyd...I hope your right but honestly, I don't see us on Ohio State's level for at least a few years and that's if everything goes our way. They are loaded and seem to get stronger every year Tressel is there.

That ha ha ha, does'nt have much power in it after your 4th loss in a row to tOSU, and another loss at your place, A.A.

Les Miles is 0-1 vs Jim Tressel this century- 33-7 in Alamo Bowl. He is the same Les Miles as an SEC coach as he was as a Big 12 coach, Same guy, just another Michigan grad, SO ??? This will not change the way Tressel caoches or his Play calling abilities, that he is known for.

Tressel knows he is 0-2 verses SEC, but 1 was a huge come back and forced SC to kick a last second FG to win, after being up 23-0 at half time of Outback bowl, vs Lou Holtz. The other after we lost one of our star athaletes at the beginning of the game.
That Record verses SEC can be turned around a lot easier than Michigan's record verses Tressel 1-6 ! 3 losses at the Shoe and 3 losses at the Big house !!!
Bring Les right on !!!!

The only time I see this ending is if JT leaves OSU. I don't see that. We will continue build an extremely strong program.

I honestly want you guys to build a stronger program. I hate when fans of other conferences talk about the Big Ten likes it a mid-major. While if we win out, we'll always be in the championship game... in seasons like this year - with 1 conf loss- we don't get the benefit of the doubt. We need Michigan, Illinois, Wisonsin, Iowa, and Penn State to all step it up and take their programs to the next level. Good Luck, just don't get better than us... although I don't see any candidates that scare me.

I don't see how that is a positive for OSU - you lost your whipping boy Carr and a new, progressive, dynamic, fearless coach is taking his place.

It can be turned around pretty easily - Cooper was 2-10-1 against Michigan, right? Know your history, it wasn't that long ago.

I don't believe I'm saying this but, I actually agree with Dick. A new coach scares the heck out of me because we may end up in worse shape than we are with Lloyd. Whoever comes in will not be an instant fix - it's going to take some time.

bring Les Miles On, He will go for touchdown with 3 sec to go instead of trying for a field goal and if he dosen't get it You same guys will complain, and there would be another site sackmiles.com.

This thread is funny on so many levels.......

Why would any buckeye fan be "hating the chain of events" that's happening now? Beating Michigan 6 out of the last seven years? No, I don't hate that. Going to the Rose Bowl? Nope, lovin' that too. Losing the Illinois game was very irritating, but that's life and the buckeyes rebounded.

A coach from the SEC beat Ohio State this year, eh? Um, last I checked Ron Zook was born and raised in Ohio State and was an assistant coach for the buckeyes. And don't forget all those wonderful players that Urban Meyer thrashed OSU with last year. Hated that game, but happy for an Ohio boy to make something of himself. I hope the Illini kill an SEC team in their bowl game.

Les Miles??? Great coach for sure and I do look for him to revitalize Michigan. On the other hand, I don't look for Jim Tressel to just start sucking as a coach just because LLLLLLoyd is gone and Miles comes in. Anyone remember the 04 Alamo game?

1 game isn't a statistic. A 1-6 record is a statistic, and a 2-10-1 is an even more concrete statistic. Common sense. no?

Why are the osu trolls here talking about how no new UM coach can come in and turn things around right away? It didn't take Lloyd long when he first became the head coach...and it didn't take JT long at osu. So why can't a new coach do it now??? Because it's UM? The talent will still be there, so a new style of coaching can only HELP.

I don't know who you're talking about Nicole as I haven't read all of these posts but I fully expect Michigan to turn it around and the OSU-UM series to be more even.
The person who started this thread predicted OSU's demise because UM will rise again. I don't see that happening again.

ANd a new coach isn't the automatic fix either. JOhn Cooper, anyone????

In a couple of years I think so, but your stars are gone and Ohio State is loaded with a coach that is highly esteemed all across the country. I think it's somewhat naive to think that next year you're going to start dominating us.

I'm in agreement with Shirc, I expect this rivalry to even up a bit as well, but don't expect it over night.

Agreed, a New Coach is a chance for something different and (hopefully) better. Can't be worse than it is right now. Hence the change.

No way I expect UM to beat OSU next year. Maybe the year after, but next year will be rebuilding mode. They'll have a brutal road schedule too (ND, Penn State, OSU).

Ohio State will do the thrashing this time,{If it works out that way} LSU has already been beaten by a 7-4 "Average", Kentucky team, and barely escaped 3 or 4 others. I really like OSU's "D" over LSU's ,"O". and Tressel's play calling, by far over Miles.

[i]It can be turned around pretty easily - Cooper was 2-10-1 against Michigan, right? Know your history, it wasn't that long ago.

This is TRESSEL not cooper, Michigan should know that by now, better than anyone !!! You guys are not very observant !

Are you comparing the talent level at Ok St with the talent at LSU or Michigan. Don't make a fool of yourself.
Well if it's just the "Talent difference", then why not keep Carr ?
If it's just the "talent" then you don't need a coach. You've had talent galore up there, for years.

The "talent" won't change the way Tressel and Miles coach, they'll still be the same guys they are now, with the same tendencies, and same Big Game experience, where Tressel definately has the edge in: 8 NCs, winning 5 of them. And 5 BCS Bowls in 7 years at OSU ?

Miles is still playing with Nick Sabine's Recruits, so how do you know what he will do with his own teams. Look at the Great Charlie Weiss ! and he has been in top 3 in recruiting every year at ND.
Miles will also find the recruiting in the Big Ten more competative, than at LSU.

I'm pulling for Brian Kelly in the search. That said, if we don't get him, we can all hope that he stays in Cincy long enough to turn that program into something good and hopefully cut into OSU's domination of that state's recruits.

I hope you get someone b/c this is not a rivalry anymore! Seem familiar? So what happens if Les doesn't come then is um doomed? I'm sure ND thought the same thing when Charlie Weis came to South Bend even though he was never a head coach. Charlie is the Offensive Genius! um before you talk smack look what it did for mike no hart. Sneaks out of the locker room, classy!

Les Miles is overrated. The only way he could ever win at Michigan is to come down and steal the talent from Ohio, just like Schembechler, Moeller, and Carr did.

Some of that talent was not stolen manningham, crable and prescott. You can have them! By the way I think B. Edwards finally figured out he should've went to TOSU b/c he now does the O-H-I-O at the browns games. Nice!
