OK, now this might be alittle far off , way out there . But the way this College football season has gone, there is a slight , slight chance . All hope may not be lost.

#1 LSU ( 9and 1) still has a SEC Championship to play........they lose , they will have 2 losses

#2 Oregon(8 and 1) They still havev Arizona, UCLA, and Oregon St.........teams that could possibly give them trouble.

#3 Kansas (10 and 0) They have Iowa St. and Mizzu left

#4 Oklahoma ( 9 and 1) they have Texas Tech, and Oklahoma St............anything could happen.

#5 Missu ( 9 and 1 ) they have Kansas St. and Kansas.........hhmmm

#6 West Va. ( 8 and 1 ) they have Cincy, UConn, and Pitt............UConn has been in every one of thier games this yr.

Alot of football left to be played Buckeye fans. If we get another win at Michigan, it's all in the hands of the College football God's...............anything is still possible............Go Bucks

Would you really even want to go to the NC game after a loss to Illinois?

Oregon will not struggle against any of their three remaining opponents. I doubt Oklahoma will any trouble either. LSU faces a more difficult road therefore, the most likely teams to be in the NC game...Oregon vs. Oklahoma.

UConn has been in every one of thier games this yr.

Not hardly. Cincinnati mounted these guys just last weekend, 27 - 3. Ouch!

Probably less than 10% chance OSU gets back to the NC game. Sorry FlaBuck.

Dick:

The way I see it, Kansas controls their own destiny. If they beat Missouri (top 5) and Oklahoma (top 5) in the Big 12 Championship game and finish undefeated, how will they they not move ahead of Oregon and/or LSU? If Oklahoma or Missouri wins out, they too have a good argument to be in the BCS Championship game.

Oregon could be left out in the cold... Three mediocre opponents to go, no conference championship game. At least LSU will be helped if they can win out and defeat a great SEC team in the SEC championship game. If I was Oregon, I would try to win the remaining three games 60 - 0. Style points for them are crucial.

OSUSTEVE...I should have mentioned I don't see Kansas going undefeated. However, if they do, I agree with you that they should be in.

Yes, there is a minute chance that Ohio State can get into the NC game. More likely, the rose bowl will be in their future IF they win Saturday.

But dammit, this is MICHIGAN!!!! Screw thinking about what bowl games are there and who we need to lose etc. To me, Michigan week is THE BEST week of the season. I love it when it comes down to OSU and Michigan for the big 10. Someone else said in another post that this was like his "Christmas". I agree. All the talk at work all week long has been bantering between Ohio State and Michigan fans. I live in Ohio and there are three or four Michigan fans that more than hold their own working amongst buckeyes.
Tomorrow, everyone will be decked out in either maize and blue or scarlet and gray. There will be cheers of "O-H....I-O" and " GO BLUE " all through the warehouse. There will be debates on how effective Hart and Henne will be and if OSU's defense will rebound from last week. And on and on and on.

I love it...............GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all not to be negative but we UM fans do tire of hearing Bucks talk on here. Secondly worry about winning this week's game before starting "what if" talk.

8-1 WVa has to play @ 8-2 Cincinnati, this week.
UConn and "Pitt" to follow. Watch Dave Wannstedt will be the one to beat W. Va, "this year" I would believe it. This year I would believe anything !

Cooper had Bo's number, too.

ASU 22, UM 14 in 1986 Rose Bowl.

Whoever leads UM after Lloyd will make some changes. Whether they end up being better or worse, we'll find out. I doubt he will go 1-5 in his first 6 games. I just find it amusing that Bucks fans think we will get a crappy coach. Not a single UM fan thought you would replace Cooper with a bum. So why the optimism in Columbus? Bill Martin isn't going to read this message board to decide who to hire. We knew that after the 12-3-1 stretch from 1985-2000, things would change --- and they did.

Hey, at least you got your first wish as Oregon is going down in flames tonight.

Tressel is "No Cooper", Michigan, of all people should know that.

But ND did'nt know about Wiess either. 1-9 and ND's got the talent, or should have, they were right there at the top with USC & Florida in Recruiting the last half decade.

I think the new coaches have been a combination of big hits and big misses.

Pete Carroll has been pretty good for USC, after they had a decade of sub-par teams. Urban Meyer went from no-name to NC Coach in 5 years. Rick Rodriguez was an assistant before taking over a declining WVU program. Bob Stoops was an assistant.

Callahan was a bad hire from the start. Nebraska wanted other coaches but had to settle for him. ND was after Meyer and fired Ty early to try to hire him. O'Leary would have been a better choice for ND. Weis looks like a great pro OC who is over his head. Bob Davie was a disaster at ND.

We really don't know which way things will go (hire a top assistant, pro assistant, current head coach, etc.).

As for ANY coach, he will have some strengths and some weaknesses. Nobody is happy with every decision a coach makes - Bo's conservative play calling even got teased in the movies. I'm sure Bucks fans can find a problem with any coach in America. You saw Cooper up close for too many years.

I just expect that the Michigan job will have better candidates to pick from than Nebraska and will not rush the issue.

i don't. i think the next coach at uofm is going to be a huge jump-start for the rivalry. personally, i'm hoping you lure les miles away from lsu. the guy's got balls - some massive balls for going for the wins in the face of perhaps losing (with the exception of that crazy throw to the endzone with nearly no time left - i think he got away with one there).

at the very least, i hope uofm hires a studly coach who understands the importance of the rivalry. even if he's an out-of-state hire, i hope he's a michigan man at heart. i would love to see the rivalry reignited like the 10 year war. man, i hope uofm learned from osu's mistake of hiring a good coach who didn't understand the rivalry - namely cooper. good coach, but this is not just any other game. that kind of thinking will drown a program no matter the overall record. luckily, we hired tressel. a guy who got it. a smart coach who understood the tradition and was determined to bring it back.

as for saturday's game, i'm hoping for a hard-hitting contest with no injuries, and a game for which both sides can be proud. i was at the 2006 game, and thought uofm gave us a hell of a fight. it was everything i'd hoped it would be. both football teams could hold their heads up. both teams played with incredible heart. i expect no less this year. i except and hope for the great fight.

OMAZENBLUE......

No , I actually just sat and looked at current rankings. And looked at those teams reamining schedules. Like I am sure alot of College fans do. And it didn't take me a week.

By the way another #2 team went down to another UNRANKED team.........this has been happening all year.

With Dixon/Oregon now done, the front runners have to be LSU and Oklahoma. Anybody disagree?

Unfortunately no. I really wanted to see the Oregon LSU game. I'm not overly impressed with Oklahoma and I can't stand the thought of another SEC team winning the NC.

I am not sold on Oklahoma. They might be the conventional pick but why not Missouri or Kansas (from the Big 12 who play each other next week) in the BCS Championship? Both of these teams are on a roll. Mangino at Kansas coached for Bob Stoops and knows their team well. Missouri has a lot of juniors and seniors. The Big 12 Championship game is at Arrowhead Stadium. The Oklahoma quarterback is a freshman.

Before the BCS Championship game, I can easily see LSU going down as well. Watch out for West Virginia and Georgia. Either one could sneak up and play the Big 12 champion in the BCS Championship. Hell, doesn't West Virginia still have to play Cincinnati? Maybe the Buckeyes still have a shot after all!

WVU's offense will be too fast for UC's defense. I see WVU winning at UC no problem.

Right now it looks like it will be WVU v. Big 12 champ in the NC game. (I think LSU loses to GA in the SEC championship game)
