So, if You are Jim Tressel, what do you see is Michigan's weakness and how do you attack it?

The only way to hurt us is to weaken us up the middle like Illinois did. Because Michigan plays a pretty vanilla style of offense I really don't see Michigan doing much damage. Henne cannot out run anybody and Hart seems to only like going behind Long. It's not real hard to figure out. Michigan has not shown anything all year that would indicate that they can or will attempt to run a spread of any kind. The Buckeyes on the other hand have shown that they can spread things out with 4 and 5 wideouts. The Bucks can run or pass off of that formation and that is where I feel the biggest difference is this weekend. Michigan does not have that many good individual players in the secondary that can cover the multiple WR looks that Ohio State will no doubt give them.

If I'm JT there are two things that I make sure I try in the first half against UM:

1. Line 'em up and smack 'em in the mouth - MSU, IL, and UW all had some measure of success getting push against UM's D-line. I remember a few years back JT started his FB at RB and ran pretty effectively against UM in the same fashion. This will also allow some play-action if it works. Beanie scares me - he's better that any other RB we have faced, except maybe Stewart from Oregon.

2. Spread 'em out - They would be wise to do this on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down throughout the first half. You might take Beanie out of the game or game plan but we all know that, unless UM can show that they can stop you by coverage schemes or QB pressure, then it might be a long day for UM's secondary.

Yeah, problem is, Todd Boeckman is the Rex Grossman of college football... They could be up 21 and he'd throw just enough interceptions to allow Michigan to come back (and by the way, Michigan needs to use the passing game more. We seem to use it well under pressure, which is the only time we do use it.)

I think Tressel's best strategy would be to take the crowd out of it early.
If there's no key shaking, the OSU players will be able to hear the audibles better. Once that 100,000+ crowd gets going it's like a noisy night at the library checkout desk. And please, OSU fans at the game, try to have some class and not give Lloyd a standing ovation when he comes out of the tunnel.

That's funny as hell! Unfortunately, I'll be watching at home so I won't be able to be in on that "standing ovation" for Lloyd. And gee, I knew it got loud in the big house, but "a noisy night at the library checkout"?!?!?! That'll make the ears bleed! lol

Word on the street is to replace keys with change in a bottle .
