Husker fan arrested as Red Fever boils over
Sunshine Dalton, Staff writer

Council Bluffs police officers arrested a man at work Thursday night for threatening to shoot fellow employees who were criticizing his favorite football team.

Gregory Speak, 40, of Council Bluffs was arrested while on duty at Wal-Mart, 3201 Manawa Centre Drive, and charged with three counts of first-degree harassment.

Speak allegedly threatened to shoot three employees in the parking lot after work because they would not stop criticizing the Nebraska Cornhuskers' performance. He reportedly told the men he had a gun in the saddlebag of his motorcycle.

Kyle Bothe, 19, Jimmy Stark, 19, and Lucas Perkins 22, all of Council Bluffs, called police at around 6 p.m. Thursday to make an official complaint.

The incident took place on Dec. 1 but the victims only notified their supervisor at that time, the report stated.

The three men were in fear for their safety, annoyed and alarmed at Speak's comment. They were allegedly afraid every time they walked to their cars alone after work.

Speak was taken to Pottawattamie County Corrections. No weapons were found during a search of his vehicle.

Awesome. Any article that includes: Wal-Mart, saddlebags and gun are destined to be entertaining.

Especially in Decemeber...the dude was riding in December with the weather we've been having in Iowa? Red flag right there says stay away...

Haha, good article.

the dude was riding in December

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, it's almost more of a sign than him working at Wal-Mart.

Are you sure that wasn't "saddlebag of his bicycle".

It was probably in the saddle bag of his Mo-ped -- ya know, lost his license & can't drive anything with a real motor in it.
