Sack Lloyd Carr / General Michigan Football Discussion / Are Lloyd Carr and Rich Rodriguez talking?

In 11 days, Lloyd Carr and Michigan will be facing the daunting spread offense of Urban Meyer.

If I was Lloyd Carr, I would pick up the phone and call Rich Rodriguez. It is the man's final game as Michigan coach and a major bowl game. How better to get some quick advice on defensing the spread then by calling the master of it? A Michigan victory vs. Florida would obviously mean the world to Carr but would also only help Rodriguez (now a Michigan man) jump start his recruiting efforts.

RR was at a Michigan practice yesterday, so if Carr had any questions, he was available.

From what I've heard RR has already brought us the #1 Prospect and a few of his friends. Lloyd didn't have dick in his hand this year.

Wow Eric, you must really have some great inside information that even the "#1 Prospect" doesn't know about.

At least you have time to prepare the smear campaign against Pryor in case he jumps over to Michigan.

You'll see me on the national news if that happens.

Yes, your sense of fairplay and objectivity will come into play when you transform Pryor hero to villian because he chooses Michigan over OSU. The sniveling will commence...

Your post doesn't follow with what I said at all, that was more like a self-gratification, after-thought reflecting on your own.

I'm on the fence about Pryor either way, he's a fantastic player, but whether he'll live up to the hype or not is unseen. It's unrealistic to think he's going to show up at Michigan, but I'm not getting into that here as there are a dozen other posts related to it.

Back to the origin of this thread: Carr stated (according to the BTN) that RR could be involved in the bowl prep "as much as he wants". RR said it would be a great time for him to evaluate what he's got for next season.

yes, they are. RR and Carr are in contact and carr gave him 100% access to facilities, players, everything...

Michigan fans who hate carr like to think he's the anti-christ... OSU fans with nothing better to do, prey on that.

whatever. Be scared.

I believe Lloyd also invited Rod to be present on the Michigan sideline as well.

I also heard that Lloyd invited Rod and his family over to his house for Christmas Dinner.

You can be damn sure Carr is talking to RR about slowing down a running QB. Lloyd doesn't want to go out with a another loss.

Im not sure talking to RR is going to help. Michigan could play a perfect game and lose by 30 this year. The problem might not be the defense. I don't see the offense being able to do much.

NUT, you have no ******* clue what you're talking about.

Michigan was banged up the entire season. Henne played against OSU with what amounted to half an arm. A healthy U of M can play with anyone. Will they beat Florida? Who knows, but there isn't a team in the country that would beat Michigan by 30 if they(UM) played a perfect game.

That has to be the single DUMBEST comment I have ever heard from you, which is obviously saying a lot.

We will see the final score. You don't think Urban is going to try to rub it in ??? You don't think Florida has seen the tape on Michigan ??? You don't think they know Hart only runs behind Long and that Michigan only throws on 3rd and long - Please. You guys complain that Ohio State is slow and we make Michigan look slow. This is the worst match up of the bowl season.

If I was Tressel I would be calling any coach that has beat a SEC team

Please worry about the NC game, it's the one that matters to the big ten.
