DS never broke a contract, there's a huge difference, and no disrespect to him, but I doubt his employers have invested anything near what WVU did on Rodriguez.

Yes i do comprehend, but at the same time wonder why the grief about leaving for greener pastures when one has done it themselves.
They forget that Tressel was under a current contract with Younstown St. when he left for OSU in 2001. Where was the outrage and indignation?
The reality of it is, this is the nature of the modern profession of coaching. Coaches come and go. RR saw a better opportunity, one which would never be offered again, and jumped at it. That is called being intelligent and acting in the best interest of your career and future.

I do not disagree with RR paying the buyout. You cannot blame the guy for leaving for greener pastures. I mean I could thrown in the obligatory hillbilly joke but I won't.
He should, and he shouldn't be surprised WVU is upset about the matter, that's all we're saying.

this was in your article
"WVU went to the ends of the earth to keep the coach here -- and clearly, some of our major donors assisted the school in that effort," Goodwin said. "There were some very minor issues that [Rodriguez] raised with the administration -- and people were working on them. I think you will agree that the things that are being talked about are pretty minor in comparison to what has been done already.
"But he clearly was looking for an excuse to leave -- he looked last year, and again this year.
"But when he went to visit [Michigan], and then came back to campus with demands based on those minor issues -- university officials simply told him they would continue to work the issues," Goodwin said. "He was asked to focus on the student athletes and the upcoming bowl game. There's a long offseason coming up to work out those sorts of minor issues. Whoever comes in as coach will know that they can count on support from WVU on big issues and small issues."
Downward Spiral152
The above quote was from Stephen Goodwin, chairman of WVU's Board of Governors. Obviously, he's going to say that! That's the whole point. The University screwed up and it cost them their coach and support from highly affluent boosters. Of course, they're going to try and defend themselves and put this on Rodriguez. Hopefully for W.Va., they'll get their 4 million dollar buyout money to offset what they'll lose in booster support.
I still don't understand why you guys feel the need to support W. Va and their administration. I didn't realize you had that kind of love for the Mountaineers.

We're not supporting them, we're explaining their position since none of you seem to understand why they'd be upset about this. There is a clear reason they are upset, I don't blame Rodriguez at all though.

They are to paraphrase the waterboy, "just angry because the have so few teeth and a tooth brush, they get confused as to which tooth the brush is actually for."

DS,
Dude, first spell guarantee correctly. Seriously, I was poking fun about the stance you were taking. If you took offense, maybe you should not have trashed RR's integrity.
I seriously doubt you have done more by the age of 27 than I have in my job. I have been in the military for 20+ years so it would be very wise for you not to even go there. I have been to places you cannot even pronounce or find on a map, so please spare me with your vanity.

He wasn't saying you were a pizza guy, he was correcting his analogy to fit the situation as a joke.
