Without playing a single game...the Michigan/ohio state rivalry is heating up. Since the naming of Rich Rodriguez as Michigan's new Head Coach, the ohio state posters on this board have done nothing but hate on the guy. Post after post of nothing but negativity!

Trolls...you have documented your fear here on SackCarr, and yes...you have every right to be worried. The hiring of Rich Rodriguez was a huge step up for the Michigan football program and will only make this rivalry a better one.

I think I can speak for all of the UofM fans on this board when I say, "Thanks buckeye fan...your sentiments have clearly indicated that Michigan made the right move when they hired Rich Rodriguez. The way the coaching search progressed, we were feeling pretty low. But now...you have lifted our spirits and we couldn't be more excited about the future of Michigan football!"

I am convinced that deep down he is a true Michigan fan. Think about it. Not all of his posts contain something about tOSU however they always contain something that has Michigan in it.

Toss Tressel

How soon some forget the Cooper years, LOL When you guys were stuck with a coach that could not win the big game, you cried like Fab Five guys when they ran out of K/Y

It's funny, if we say something negative about him, we're scared. If we say something good we're conceding that Michigan is back. Until I see Rich really win a big game sometime I'm reserving my worry.

Let's not forget his rivalry game against Pittsburgh, they are almost even despite Pittsburgh's underdog status.

Yep, I'm shaking.

Since you haven't had the pleasure of "whening" [sic] the big game in a long time I'd guess that's the kind of crying you're doing right now.

well... the comments were.. "we love lloyd carr. he's great. he cant beat us".

now theyre... "rr sucks. he can't do this and he can't do that. what a punk."

the tone has changed. if nothing else, michigan is on the up again. And considering we were 1 TD away from being in the title game last year.. i'd wonder exactly what that limit is!

Hey now, I'm not complaining about this guy & I think most of us are not really worried until we actually see some action from this guy. All he's proven is that he's pretty darn good in the Big East. What ever that's worth.

Well, he's a good coach, but he chokes. Yes, he has better talent now, but he has choked in his own weak conference.

I think he's a good fit, better than Carr, but putting him on your shoulders as a cureall is ludicrous. We'll see what happens over the next few years, don't expect much this season.

Where am I crying? I cannot spell, but I am not crying at all.

I am wondering what you were like 93-2002

Well, he's a good coach, but he chokes.

Nobody here is talking about Tressel...why do you have to bring up the National Championship game anyway?

Oh wait...you were talking about Rodriguez. Oh yeah....the guy who has led his team to 2 BCS games in the last 3 years. That guy! Well hey...you got me there.

I actually like how ESPN puts it....

If the Wolverines couldn't hire Miles, Rodriguez was probably the next best choice. The architect of West Virginia's spread offense, Rodriguez has long been regarded as one of the best coaches in college football. He has no ties to Michigan, but will bring an exciting brand of football to Ann Arbor. Rodriguez led the Mountaineers to a 60-26 record in seven seasons and a BCS bowl game in two of the last three years. If Rodriguez can recruit fast players like he had at West Virginia, his teams might change the way the game is played in the Big Ten Conference.

It might be hard to believe the Wolverines couldn't lure one of their own home, but LSU is a better job than Michigan right now. But with Rodriguez on board, it won't be long before Michigan is a national power again.

Be afraid....be very afraid!!!

Is that not what OSU did by getting rid of Cooper. Florida and Zook. Seemed to work out well for OSU and FL. If he is not a cureall, possibly you could provide some insight as to what Michigan needs to do, other than a new coach/staff, to be better? Also, choking comments are stupid, especially given what has gone on in college football this year. Unless of course you are talking about Latrell Spreewell.

ESPN SAID THAT! UH OH!

Being a national power is one thing, having a winning bowl record is another. Lloyd Carr and Rich have a really similar record, both in bowls and overall wins/losses, and Rich was in a weaker conference.

It makes you think.

Also, choking comments are stupid,

If it weren't for chokes would you have wanted Carr gone? They are absolutely relevant, Rodriguez goes into important games and more often than not loses them.

Clearly conjecture to say the least! Script...you exude worry. But, keep it up...that's what this thread is all about my friend!!!

I do agree with Script, Ill was not an important game. So it does not count as a choke

Script I was a shock as any OSU fan last years NC game. I never expected Tressels team to not be prepared.

I think Tressel has something to prove this year, Les Miles and LSU should be very afraid, IMO

Somehow I feel like even if I say "Good luck next year guys!" it'll somehow be portrayed as worry.

Gosh, I trolled off and you're making me respond.

Ohio State has choked as well, of course, but for the most part, when we go into a big game we win it, and that's the difference between good and great programs.
