Pryors head coach was on the huge show today, heres the transcript:

Jeannette, Pa., five-star quarterback Terrelle Pryor has suddenly become a hot name around Ann Arbor now that Rich Rodriguez is the head coach at Michigan. On Tuesday, Pryor's head coach at Jeannette, Ray Reitz, appeared on The Huge Show with host Bill Simonson.

Here is what he had to say:

On what makes Terrelle Pryor special: "He's 6-5 , he's 235 pounds, he runs a 4.3-flat 40 and he has a cannon for an arm. I'm 51 years old now and he's the best athlete I've ever seen at any level. His potential is tremendous. The kid's like an iceberg. He's still got a lot of potential underneath the surface yet.

When teams first started contacting him about Pryor: "Last year we came out of nowhere and played for the state championship and he threw for 350 yards in that game. That's when people started noticing him. He's always had a reputation in Western Pennsylvania for his potential to be great.

On how he performed this past season: "We played this past weekend and he tore the show up there and against Aliquippa he had seven touchdowns. He threw for 4,200 yards and rushed for 4,100 yards so he's the real deal. I don't think anybody else in Pennsylvania has done that, maybe not in the country. The beauty of Terrelle is he is a team guy first. He really cares about his teammates and the biggest thing is he just wants to win. He's like an assassin like Larry Bird used to be and Michael Jordan, he just wants to win.

On if Terrelle Pryor has the "it": "The funny thing about it, around the city of Jeannette people say 'Who would you rather have playing the championship game, Ben Roethlisberger or Terrelle Pryor?' and I say Terrelle Pryor because he can run. He's pretty exciting.

Retaining quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler could be a positive for Michigan's chances with Pryor according to his coach
Pryor's ability to be an immediate starter as a freshman in college: "I think he has the potential to be, but every kid coming out of high school is going to struggle because you have to read defenses. He's very football smart and he could play because he's big enough, but I'm sure he's going to have a period where he's going to struggle.

Is there any indication where he is leaning: "He was leaning toward, I think, Ohio State for a little bit. Michigan was on his list earlier. He likes Scot Loeffler because Scot's a great coach. And there isn't a better guy than Lloyd Carr anywhere in college football. He liked Lloyd Carr because he's a gentleman. What intrigues Terrelle right now is that [Rich] Rodriguez runs the type of offense that I think he could flourish in.

On the offense they run at Jeannette: "We are in the spread and drop the ball to a lot of people. He was very unselfish and, like I said, winning comes first for him. When you are in the spread with him, you using his full ability. He could go anywhere and be a drop back passer and be very good at it. If something breaks down he has the ability to hit a home run by scrambling for a touchdown.

On whether schools have to run the spread to be successful in high school: "I think that's the new thing, but it depends. We're not very big upfront, so we're not going to line up and knock you off the ball every time. We can pull and run counter treys like the old Redskins, so his ability and teams having to account for that opened up a lot and we ran a lot of option with him. He just flourished in it.

Who would he sign with if he had to right now: "It would be unfair to see, but I know he's very intrigued with Michigan right now, I can tell you that. I'll tell you also he's very intrigued with who West Virginia names as the next head coach too. He respects everybody who's out there and kids change their mind a lot, but I know he's very interested in Michigan at this point.

On what the rest of his recruitment will look like: "He's going to play in the all-star game down in San Antonio. I know he liked Scot Loeffler when he came and I understand there's a chance Loeffler might still be on the staff at Michigan, so I think that would be a plus for them. I understand Rodriguez might be interested in keeping him and some of the other coaches and that might benefit him. It would be unfair for me to say [where he'll go] because it's his decision and he's got to talk with his family too.

On whether he talks with Reitz about his recruitment: "Yes, he does. I tell him I want him to go somewhere he can graduate and get great coaching. I do think he can play at the next level. What I want him to understand is, I've always liked Michigan since I was a little kid because I loved Bo Schembechler, but the thing is I'm not going to be moving to Ann Arbor. He's got to pick where he's going to feel comfortable for the next four years and that's what I always tell him. Go see everybody and see where you feel comfortable and go from there. But I do know he likes the offense Coach Rodriguez runs.

That all sounds pretty good to me but we will just have to wait and see

Michigan would provide Pryor with all the ingredients he seeks to show his wares a huge stadium filled with rabid fans and colossal national TV exposure in an offense that suits him to a "T."

If he choses Michigan then, that would mean he has given up on his plans to play BB , and getting to the NCAA tournament & possible final 4, as well as playing football.

Pryor is now reportedly considering the Buckeyes, Wolverines and Florida Gators as his college destination. The winner gets the 6-foot-6, 235-pound burner from Jeannette, Pa. and potentially a whole lot more. Pryor

Can you think of a better way to get the Rodriguez/Tressel era under way?

And he'll accomplish that at OSU? OSU isn't even receiving a single vote right now for the AP or coaches top 25.

GoWolverines:

Great find. Sure sounds like Michigan is the favorite right now.

plus1 you must be dreaming again ,your bball team isnt that great ,and it wont matter any way because he wont be going to osu. but to be fair about it their is always hope. you guys need to remember PRYER IS NOT THINKING OF W/V BECAUSE -WHY, AND THEN THINK OF WHY HE IS SUDDENLY SO EXCITED ABOUT MICHIGAN. ill give you one guess and this is why he will be in ann arbor next season oh not to mention richie is great buddies with michigans bball coach and guess where he came from SO IF PRYER WANTS TO PLAY BBALL ITS NO PROBLEM MAAN.

If Belien does not let him play basketball and thats why we don't end up getting him I don't think I could ever forgive. Unless of course a miracle happens and we make it to the tournament in the next few years

bound to make any QB HAPPY , YOUR ALMOST CORRECT WITH THAT . but only with a program that runs the same system he ran in high school, THAT WOULD BE THE NEW MICHIGAN PROGRAM. sorry osu faithful OUR NEW QB WILL BE GUESS WHO... YOUR SOON TO BE WORST NIGHTMARE.

He may turn out to be a "Flop", no matter who gets him, it would'nt be the first time a great player at the high school level, turned out to be an "average" player in College. Same as going from college to Pro, some people just can't cut it, for whatever reason, nobody knows. ????? Many Heisman winners over the years "Flopped" in the NFL.

Same thing with some HS kids. I've seen many a 5* turn out to be duds, while 2 and 3 star players, end up taking home all the College hardware ! So I think everyone needs to take a step back, and not overexpect, including OSU.

Some times too much is expected of a kid, and he tries too hard to live up to it ! And that can be a disaster, and each passing year, that he does'nt live up to it, gets worse.

Going back to the original post- The Horseshoe is twice as rabid as the Big House. Ohio State gets just as much exposure as Michigan. And Im tired of hearing about Michigan being a great fit because of Rich Rod's style. Tressel doesnt have a set offensive style. He runs whatever best suits his quarterback meaning that Pryor can still come to Columbus and run a spread offense. See the Troy Smith days for further detail. And about the post saying that Pror has developed a good relationship with some of our 5 star linemen. Thats all the more reason for him to come to Columbus. It would be alot easier for the linemen to stay with their original commitments and Pryor just decide to follow them to Ohio State. I think the wildcard here is basketball. If he is really serious about playing basketball in college then thats another edge u have to give to Ohio State. Props to the post about Woody and Bo...Aint that the truth

Rich moved to Michigan and he adds Michigan to his list, since Pryor already showed interest to Rodriguez at WVU this really isn't a sure sign of anything, the logic follows. Rich has never sent a quarterback to the NFL, I wonder if that ever weighs on his mind. Thinking that there are suddenly connections dragging him to Michigan is ludicrous, none of those seemed to matter until a new coach arrived. Let us not forget Mallet is not going anywhere, and Pryor is likely wanting to move to the pros in 3 years, hmmm, those pieces don't fit.

He's weighing his options the way he has all year, he's going to pick a team, but if it's anything other than Ohio State or Florida I will be blown away. Common sense still points to Ohio State. Plenty of national exposure, a former heisman winning quarterback one year removed, 3 NC games under Tressel, 4 conference titles. Compare that to Michigan and WVU's accomplishments as of late combined and it's still a no brainer.

Remind me again how many successful QB's OSU has put in to the pros?

Scott Loeffler is one of the best QB coaches in the nation and will surely remain at UM.

Tressel was the QB's coach at OSU under Earle Bruce in the 80's. He specializes in the QBs, and the Defense, and his play calling on offense is second to none. He's a great Recruiter, he uses special teams, punters, field position, and clock management, better than any coach I've seen, but the best part is, he would'nt brag on himself about any of this stuff, so we'll do it for him.
Troy Smith was a great QB, but Zwick,{even with limited time} Krenzel,{an NC} and now Boeckman{one of the national leaders in pass %} all played a lot better under Tressel than anyone thought they would play.
Whoever the QB is at OSU, Tressel will get the BEST out of him, whatever that is. Tressel's QBs, WON'T BEAT THEMSELVES, most of the time.

I don't know {or care} about the Pro QBs, but Tressel's QB's have outplayed Michigan's QB's, in head to head games, in college, and that's what matters, to CF fans.

That's great and all but anyone who aspires to play QB at the next level would be an idiot to choose OSU over Michigan. The proof is in the pudding........and it's not even close.

Every college football player dreams of playing at the next level, especially if you are a Quarterback. Michigan is Quarterback U period.

Good memories for them. They can sit around with Al Bundy and reminisce about their amateur careers. Too bad they can't earn a living playing QB at the pro level.

Yes but Griese has started for the Bears and, well, Navarre is chill'n with the colts, his time will come someday. I hear the starting QB there is just a little bit better.

Troy Smith was a great QB

Smith had an amazing day with the Ravens last Sunday, guiding the team to the Dolphin's first and only win of the season.

Troy Smith makes his first start Sunday giving us one starting quarterback to Michigan's two. Yep I can definately see Michigan's superiority when it comes to pro quarterbacks right now....

The thing is, it's not even about Michigan's quarterbacks, it's about the ones Rodriguez has put out there, and that's none. Just because he's wearing different color warm-ups doesn't mean Rich's play-style and ability to develop QB's is going to improve.
