Good job for him, eh? It will not be pretty when we have to battle him.

That said, I think Dixon was the most outstanding player this year and I would have voted for him.

You cannot argue with the numbers Tebow put up. He was the best college player this year. He will not be a very good pro but that is not what the award is about.

Very rarely will I agree with the #1 Nut...but, Tebow deserved the heisman. Unbelievable year!

No, I'll disagree. If you want to talk about numbers, Texas Tech's QB threw for 5300 yards and 45 TDs. You might bring in the 20 and 20 SEC record, but if we want to talk about records, shouldn't Brennan's 15 or so NCAA records come into play?

I would have given it to Dixon because when he was running Oregon's team they were absolutely ridiculous. They may not have had the most impressive numbers, but, to me, what Dixon was able to do with Oregon was more oustanding than Tebow.

wow, they've outdone themselves, first troy smith, now tebow, i can't begin to think of a more undeserving player to win.

First, I'm very happy for Tebow. I think he is truly a humble young man, and he shows uncomparable passion for the game without being disrespectful. I don't see how BBL can say there hasn't been a more undeserving player. He invented the 20/20 club, and counting stats in the bowl game it will probably be the 30/20 club. He has more single-season rushing TD's than all the great SEC RB's: Hershel, Emmit, Hurst, McFadden, etc... He's responsible for a whopping 51 TD's at this point (an SEC record). He has the highest passing efficiency among all Heisman winners. He threw for 29 TD's and over 3,000 yrd along with his unbelievable running stats. Further, he played an important role on a winning NC team last year (although I don't think this should matter because it is not a lifetime achievement award).

I don't like tearing down other players, and I think all Heisman winners were deserving. However, Couch and White were probably two less impressive winners I can think of off the top of my head. As far as this year, how can you make a case for McFadden? He is probably the best player in CFB, but a QB (Tebow) had more rushing TD's (a lot more) than he did in the same conference. I'm not going to tear down Brennan and tell you how less impressive he would have been playing in the SEC. Instead, I'll ask you to imagine what Tebow's stats would have been if the toughest team on his schedule had been Washington. Chase Daniel...well I honestly believe he was just somebody ESPN threw out there to try and make the race interesting. However, he several letdowns on his national stage. On two drives inside the 5 yrd line he was stuffed trying to run it into the endzone, and he nearly threw a pick 6 when the game was on the line.

Undeserving....please. I'm not saying he's going to be great or even a success in the NFL, but he had one of the greatest college football seasons in history, and that is just a FACT!

The big difference is that Tebow hung his numbers against the toughest schedule out of the considered players. If Texas Tech or Hawaii played in the Big Ten, Pac 10, SEC,etc they would not have those numbers. Even though I do not Urban Meyer you cannot deny what this kid did. The thing that impresses me is that every team knew he was the whole offense and they still could not stop him (for the most part). If McFadden would not of had 2 sub par games though I think the award would of been his.

Tebow accounted for 51 TD's and did something NO QB has EVER done and run for 20 TD's and throw for 20 TD's in one of the toughest conferences in college football. You're an idiot if you don't think he's deserving of the heisman.

If you don't think he deserves it...please tell me why. Don't tell me that someone else should've gotten it. Tell me why Tebow DOESN'T deserve it.

I heard a caller on Fox sports news who said that Tebow never blocked anyone. In his estimation this is why McFadden should win it; he runs, passes, and BLOCKS. Of course, this was some heavily skewed Arkansas reasoning, but that's the best I can give you.

Yes, you can. But don't trust me--look it up yourself. Central Michigan University QB, Lefevour (SP?) beat all Tebow's numbers and actually won his conference Championship. Ran for more yards than Tebow, scored more, more passing...etc etc

Its a MEDIA award. Tebow was on TV the most and the SEC is the blow up love doll. Big, white, christain with hot GF at Florida football gods school. Am puking.

Coincidentally, there was a mobile QB that absolutely ran away with the heisman last year. For the life of me, I can't remember his name. However, here are his stats.

Passing
Games - 13
Att - 311
Comp - 203
Pct - 65.3%
Yards - 2542
Int - 6
TD - 30
Rating - 161.9

Rushing
Att - 72
Yards - 204
TD's - 1

Here's Tebow's stats:

Passing
Games - 12
Att - 317
Comp - 217
Pct - 68.5%
Yards - 3132
Int - 6
TD - 29
Rating - 177.8

Rushing
Att - 194
Yards - 838
TD's - 22

*1 game still to play.

Now tell me again how Tebow doesn't deserve the Heisman???

How does what you'll do in the NFL matter anyways with the heisman? It's a ballgame. How did McFadden do? I didn't even watch anything Saturday. I was kind of pulling for that little guy.

Agreed. It doesn't, and shouldn't.

And it's dumb arguement to suggest someone should win the Heisman on that merit because we've all seen historically how poorly projecting NFL talent is and if ANYTHING is a barometer for that it's ironically enough the Heisman winners.

Has there been, in the last few years any season where MIchigan didn't have to face a Heisman winning QB??
