Only 4 other teams can say that & LSU isn't one of them. That is why OSU, SF & BC are where they are.

and Arizona State...wait
see the point? OSU doesn't really have any more convincing stats than any of the other 3 undefeated, including ASU. So why would they be considered a dominant powerhouse? No one is calling ASU a dominant powerhouse, are they? No, they're saying "we'll see", because they have a tough schedule ahead and a cupcake schedule behind them. So too with OSU.

All I can see is pre rankings. Arizona St wasn't ranked, but then again where the heck was BC & SF preranked? Hawaii was sitting at 23 preseason & they're still ranked above 15. The whole BCS doesn't make sense.

Yes they do and I've established those. There is no undefeated team that has the margin of victory the OSU does (29 ppg) or has given up as few ppg (6.5).

I think you're getting too bent out of shape about this. No one is denying there isn't a lot of football left and that OSU may very well even lose a game. In fact, you'll notice in this thread or the other I've stated emphatically I still believe LSU is the best team, but OSU is undeniably the uncontested #1 "ranked" at this point, imo.

No one should be getting too bent out of shape about it yet...there is a lot that remains to be seen, but there is nothing wrong with calling OSU a powerhouse. And I've stated that the other undefeated may be close too....but the fact is, with the factual stats we have, no one is putting up the number OSU is against opponents.

Hmm, I don't know why you think I'm "bent out of shape" about this. You're just wrong, or perhaps beating the piss out of Kent State is the new definition of powerhouse.

So?

This goes to what we think should influence rankings. I truly believe that up to this point I would rather have South Florida's season than OSU's (in terms of who they have beat, and who they have lost to.) Because of that, I think South Florida should be ranked #1. The rankings don't matter much now for BCS purposes, but the number one team in the country, right now, should be South Florida. Once Ohio State starts beating better teams (and I believe they will), they should be ranked number 1.

I'm assuming you would no longer rather have South Florida's year.
