I think we'll still be ok, but man would he have been perfect for the new offense. We are still going to recruit him though. Thoughts?

F#@k him. If he'd rather play for a crap coach like Tommy Amaker, see ya, let me know how that works out for ya. Oh and by the way, good luck finding a good program that still somehow has a scholarship open to offer to you.

Yeah you're right, good riddance. This is the second time he's punk'd us out.

Does this mean there's now a scholarship available for that guy who wanted to follow Beilein from WVa? I say we get him now.

Beilein is close to getting a commitment from a European.

Reed Baker is also transferring.

Reed Baker was terrible anyway. Legion would have fit in with the new offense, but he is gone. Suppopsedly some big basketball powers are after him including UCLA.

I think we still have 2 scholarship spots availablem so if the guy from WVU is interested he can come on over.

Fock Legion. Beeline will find an adequate replacement.

we dont have to hate on legion for wanting to leave. it sucks to lose our highest recruit in years but... so what. beilien runs a system that doesn't need everyone to be a top player.

we'll have guys who are 10x more athletic than what he had at WVU. as long as they "get" the offense we'll be fine.

and then hopefully next year we'll land 1-2 top guys who break through the system and take it a step further like green and hibbert at G-town.

either way, he's already running the ship and doing it right, and as far as im concerned, as long as we get a PG (grady), we'll be okay. that was our biggest problem.

amazing how amaker couldnt coach any of them into being good PGs. then again he couldnt coach anyone on anything.

things like this are going to happen when you switch coaches. I'm not worried at all and kind of expected this.

It's too bad, but I agree. Next year is going to be pretty much a wash anyway. I expect them to be better than what they look like on paper. This will help show Beilien can coach and bring in recruits.

This kid sounds like he is no good for us anyway. I did not realize this is the 2nd time he has de-committed to UM:

"I just wanted to open my recruitment again," said Legion. "I'm not going to start looking until the end of next week. But [Beilein] said he's still recruiting me."

Beilein did say in an interview on Ann Arbor's WTKA radio that he "wants kids who want to run to Ann Arbor; not guys who want to walk."

This is the second time Legion has backed out on Michigan. He committed in November 2005, de-committed in April 2006, re-committed in July 2006 and signed in October 2006. The UCLA Rivals.com site BruinBlitz.com reported Legion has narrowed his list down to four schools; UCLA, Kentucky, Kansas and Connecticut.

"Of course, the Bruins have a need at the shooting guard position with the early departure of Arron Afflalo to the NBA," they wrote. "What is unknown is just how much interest the Bruins have in a kid who has now de-committed from the same school twice in a year after leaving his high school of three years in Detroit to play his senior season in southern Virginia."

Dang, I did not know that, now I'm glad he is gone. He'll probably be the first one to bolt to the NBA if he has a good freshman year.

Former Michigan recruit Alex Legion signed with Kentucky on Tuesday, his mother, Annette Williams, told The Detroit News.
"They really took time with Alex," Williams said of new Kentucky coach Billy Gillespie and his staff. "They did their research on him."
Legion de-committed from Michigan twice in the past year and was granted his release from the school.

It is interesting to note that after Legion signed with Kentucky, he immediately de-committed and then he signed again and then he de-committed a second time and then he signed again and de-committed and then signed again and de-committed and signed again. He would of de-committed once again but it was lunch time and he had to go eat. He first went over to Burger King but decided on Pizza Hut. But he didn't stay there long because Taco Bell was calling. Reports are that he finally ended up at that little sandwich shop in the back of Walmart.

That has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Did they take so much time that they let him commit, de-commit, commit, de-commit, and then commit, only to de-commit once more? How much more time did they spend on this idiot? This lady should get mother of the year honors for producing such a fine piece of s h i t. I hate basketball and don't really care about any of it but when I see this kind of s h i t I get pissed off. Hell, if I were coach I would have not released him and I never would have played him.

Motown is on track....I would have put him in a round room and told him to sit in the corner.

Watch his butt ride the pine at Kentucky. I wish i could say he could become academically ineligible, but Kentucky? Freakin farm animals could 4 point that school.

Who didn't see this coming?
