How cool would it be if UM got Bobby Knight? Just chew on that a minute.

I saw Lon Kruger on one of the lists above. I think he would be a great fit. He knows the big ten.

i think michigan would be perfect for bobby knight. he cant get the recruits or big names he wants at ttech...

and no matter how good he is at TTech, he'll never get the draw/names that he'd get at UM.

Plus, he'd tell Martin what's what and get this program in order. Who knows... in 3 years we might be a better bball program than football (if carr is still around)

hahahaaaaaaaaa just picture knight slapping martin in the face like he did one of his players earlier in the year.

hahaha chew on that, it might be just what martin needs. Can't you just picture knight ******** at martin with martin looking at the ground then night just b*tch slaps him.

It wouldn't help your recruiting very much. Knight said he refuses to recruit kids that would leave after one year of college. Seriously, how pissed would you guys be if another Oden or Durant came down the pike and Knight refused to recruit them because they would be looking to jump to the NBA after one year? I don't think Knight is the guy you guys want. I guess he could always change his mind.

thats fine with me. i hate duke, but they rarely get one and done players and they do just fine. (not this year of course).

id rather take system guys that make us competitive every year and where going to the NCAA tourney isn't a big deal. Lets get to that level first.

Knight would help recruiting because he's a legend up here in Big10 country.

You can't tell me that he wouldn't out-recruit Tommy "Mock turtle neck" Amaker.

I guess I just think Knight is a great coach and would make basketball at michigan fun again.

But that said, I'd rather have a young coach who's up and coming and could take us to the next level for a long time.

That's what we said about Amaker though...

Knight would never tarnish his Ohio State legacy by beconing a Wolverine. He is at the age where money does not matter. Plus does Michigan really want a old face that has been around for ever guiding their program. How about some young blood. Go after a hot young coach and let him do his thing.

I still think that if they got the right coach in there he would do well, regardless of facilities. If I were in charge at Michigan (god forbid) I would back up a Brinks truck in front of Chris Lowery's (Southern Illinois coach) house. SIU has already proven to be something of a burgeoning coaching pipeline to the B10 (See Matt Painter, Bruce Weber), and I think that Lowery may end up being the best of the bunch. His style would certainly fit within the Big Ten, and he has proven himself as a solid recruiter (I read where he has commitments from two of the best juniors in St. Louis as we speak). Also I think that Lowery's contract is up after the year.

I hope you guys are being sarcastic with the Bobby Knight sh*t.

I agree.

I like Lon Kruger's track record the most of anyone else, but not that he's 54. His son is a senior for UNLV, so he might want to get back into the big ten now that he has the chance. If he comes here chances are that he won't stay more than four-five years, he hasn't anywhere else in twenty years of coaching.

I also like Chris Lowery because of the simple fact that he is the reason that any sports fan has even heard of the Salukis.

Well I'll be...........you actually said something that makes sense. Wait...wait......give me a minute.........I'm just gonna soak this up.

See, that wasn't that hard. I think you should do it more often. You know, more than once a year.

Scary thought. Wasn't Amaker in the sweet 16 the year before UM hired him???

Many similarities between Amaker and Lowery.

The point wasn't that we want Lowery. The point is...after thousands of posts from you, one finally made sense.

Ahhhh...yes. I don't know how I ever survived without reading this board daily. You guys always crack me up. I think 90% of the threads on here, regardless of subject, always end in some sort of personal bickering.

I hope everyone can make it out to the spring game. I'd love to shake hands and share brews with you. OSU fans as well. Keep it coming!

Err...if I may interject with some bball talk. Petway will feature in the 3-point and slam dunk contest this year in Georgia. Catch it on the 29th at 9pm on ESPN, he has really provided some awesome aerial acrobatics over the years.

Now, carry on....

That should be cool. I always wanted to see Petway in the dunk contest and I wondered why he was never in it. He must've been in the late rounds of the NIT.

I don't know about that. My picks were pretty close to the favorite numbers. Not too many upsets so far. We'll see in this round. I'll give myself a nice pat on the back if my final prediction, Oregon vs. UNC., comes true.

Thanks though! I can almost taste the beer now!
