Plus1, what's West Virginia's Governor got to do with team meetings? What does he have to do with anything? Sure he's mad about it, a lot of people are. But I can guarantee you that he wasn't in the meeting, so whatever he says and has said is from an outside source.

Sources close to Captain Kirk Herbstreit I'm sure...

Players EXACT QUOTES from espn.com....

Steve Slaton..."I'm pretty sure the next guy will do a good job but Coach Rod was West Virginia," Running back Steve Slaton said. "It's a business. He has to think of his family first. He'll have emotions. But I can't be mad at him because he gave me a chance."

Owen Schmitt..."You've got to do what you've got to do sometimes," West Virginia fullback Owen Schmitt said. "He did all he could for us. As far as I know he did a lot of great things for this university."

Vaughn Rivers..."It's a rough day," West Virginia cornerback Vaughn Rivers said after practice Sunday. "Now we just have to pull together as a team and get ready for a bowl game.

"Coach Rod was a man about it."

Marc Magro..."It was very surprising to me," linebacker Marc Magro said. "My gut feeling last year was he was staying. My gut feeling this year was he was leaving, honestly."

Rodriguez informed his players before practice Sunday afternoon. Rivers said Rodriguez was emotional to the point of tears, but did not elaborate on his decision.

Actually if you go to ESPN.com, they have a video clip with Marc Magro and Owen Schmitt...Magro says "they had a team meeting at 1:30pm just like they had last year with Alabama and he said he was staying but he told us he was going to Michigan" So the "He was staying" reference was about the Alabama job last year and had nothing to do with the Michigan job this year. He told them he was leaving for Michigan, PERIOD!!!

I'm back, and I hear your heads rattling, but I don't see anything worthwhile, falling out of your mouths.

I'm not even sure you are who you say you are, or if you're the hacker/worm, running around here.

You are right about one thing, RR did call a late weekend team meeting and told the players he was going to Michigan, but only after they had already heard it on Friday, when the press leaked it out. Then RR rushed to have a team meeting and tell them what he already knew, trying to save face.

But the kids interviewed today said "He told us he would be in WVa for the long haul, and that there was no job he would ever leave WVa for. The same thing he said after turning down Alabama.
Some of them were ok with it, maybe they did'nt really care. {Maybe those kid's did'nt like him anyway, and were just trying to put a good face on the whole mess.}

The recruits said they were told that same stuff about WVa being his "dream job" and he would be there for them.

Right after Pitt whipped WVa, at RR's press conference he told the media not to mention any coaching jobs or the interview would be over, and told them again at his press conference last week.

Then he told the players and recruits not to listen to any rumors about coaching jobs. THEN after the leak in the "press" about UofM job on Friday, he rushed a team meeting and said he was going to AA.

When a coach tells a player or recruit I'll be here for the long haul, "this is my dream job", and then blows town, that's sleazy, I don't care if it was last week, or last year. The long haul, is the long haul !

The Governor of WVa said, {speaking of RR} and I quote: " It's a sad day in College sports when a Coach's word is not his bond", unquote.

I don't care where RR goes myself, he chokes on Big games, and little one's {Pitt}, anyway, but don't pi$$ down my leg and tell me it's raining !

He knew, for longer than people thinks, where he was going. That's why everyone was wondering why Michigan did'nt appear to be trying very hard to find anyone, and why nobody was clammering for what is supposed to be, one of the Elite jobs, in the country, they already had him.

What I can't figure is, why UofM kept it a secret, what's the Big Deal ? If he was going, he should of manned up and said so. He would have got more respect.

Why do you care so f*cking much about the circumstances of the hiring of Michigan's new coach?

Doesn't WV's governor have anything better to do than worry about RR's coaching career?

Plus 1,

Thats great dude, no way the Governor and the AD of WVU are saying RR is a dirt bag. Wow, did not see that coming. Thats like asking an Ohio State fan who he thinks the worst team "north" of Ohio is. He did man up you jacka$$. As soon as he knew he was going within a day he told his team..Thats pretty damn quick. Second, Sweater vests ARE gay and so are you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1OSUNUT!

Classy - like leaving your alma-mater and the players that trusted you a few weeks before their big BCS bowl game. He should be in the same catagory as Saban and Petrino.

Don't be haten, just becuase he will be stealing your recruits while your suckeyes are practicing hard for another let down season. So much for all that time lost! We have two coach's right now! One to recriut hard! and one to coach the bowl game!

Oh yah, please talk to the youngstown state players on how they felt when Tressel took a demotion to go to OSU!

Atleast RR took a step up in the coaching ranks!

War RR kicking Tressel's as-s!

War OSU fans pissing there pants right now!

War Michigan stealing the thunder back!

IT'S A GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The West Virginia fans will get over it when Nick Saban arrives and who knows they may actually get that first national championship next year. I hope they do and then maybe they can forget this whole thing. Saban is not happy in Alabama and has contacted WVU on the coaching opening. The guy jumps around but hand him a talented team and he will win big. He went 6-6 at Bama because they have talent comparable to MSU. I think he would be good for atleast 3 years there or who knows the man has to settle down somewhere someday.
