....Rod ! Turns out that he told the players at W.Va in a team meeting that he was staying at W Va., and then left shortly there after for the Michigan job. The Governor's words put Rich Rod in the same class with Saban and Petrino. Don't believe me, just watch ESPN, it's on there now. The Seniors are really pi**ed. They said he talked to UofM and told the the WVa players he was staying at W. Va. Shame, shame , shame,

It's unfortunate for West Virginia but they really need to look at the good this guy did for their program and get over it. They have a good program thanks to RR. Stabbing him in the back after he has left does not look very classy.

Do we brand Bo a bad guy for leaving Miami, Ohio to come to Michigan?

Calling a team meeting and telling your team you are staying with them and turning right around and leaving is less than "Classless" !!!!

That's a flat out lie. Pat White even said that in the team meeting R.R. said he was leaving. I'd love to know who your source was for that garbage. The reason the players are pissed is because they wanted him to coach the bowl game.

You better turn your tv on and watch ESPN, because you are dead wrong pal ! The Governor and the palyers were on, and said that he called the meeting and said "I am staying at W. Va.," A direct quote from a W Va. senior player.
Or just stay in denial if you prefer ???

The Big Ten Coaching is going to start looking as bad as the SEC if this keeps up !!!

The "Real Plus 1".

{I thought you had an EDITOR on this Website ???????}

Could this be because college football is more popular than the NFL? I'm not used to seeing this kind of outrage over a coach changing jobs. If a coach is a rotten person for changing a job then there is alot of them out there. Most top coaches out there have left somewhere else to get where they are now.

Ask Youngstown State if they were happy about Tressel leaving.

Classy - like leaving your alma-mater and the players that trusted you a few weeks before their big BCS bowl game. He should be in the same catagory as Saban and Petrino.

Since I'm at work and don't have access to a TV...I went to ESPN.com to find this information.

Several players were quoted in the above articles. None of them had any ill will toward Rod. In fact, many had very good things to say. The only thing even close to being negative from a player was one of them complained to his parents that he was upset that Rich Rod might not be coaching them in their bowl.

No where does it say he told his players he was staying at W. Va. Plus 1...you need to get your facts straight. At the least, this lost a lot in translation.

The mere fact that W. Va. is bummed about losing him and the consistent negativity coming from buck nation inspires the hell out of me that this was indeed a great hire! Spin on you NUTS!!!!

All the time and energy all these OSU losers are putting in trying to bad mouth RR just lets us know we made the right hire.

It's like the Tiger seeing the lion re-emerge from it's cave. It tries so hard to keep from putting it's tail between it's legs but the tiger just can't help it.

Thad Matta got the same, but come on! I don't know too many people who would stay at their jobs if a whole hell of a lot more money came their way. Who stays at Burger King when Cameron Mitchell offers you a job?

i blame carr and um if they would have just waited till after the bowl games to start making announcements this whole thing could have been avoided but rr thought he had to take the job now or it would be gone

there could have been a better time like after the bowls, so rr could still coach his bowl or miles could still coach his bowl if they take the job, no everyone wanted it now that is all i was saying

OK. There is a slight chance that ESPN was wrong when I watched. I mean its not like they are right all the time. They do have some crappy journalist like Herbnut who does not know shi!t from shinola.

You do the best thing for your program. Especially when you're paying a guy several million dollars. No waiting when there is this much on the line.

Who waits?

Right, but most don't tell their team they are staying and then leave the next day, like Petrino and Rich Rod and Saban did, that's the difference !!!,

You need to quit looking at the stupid internet and turn on the TV when you get home, and get a dose of reality. I did'nt say it was on the internet stupid, I said I saw the "Direct Quotes from the Players and the Governor of WVa on "Live TV", pay attention !!!!!
The man said to his players he was staying at West Virginia, and went to Michigan, period ! You need to stop living in denial !!! This was a live broadcast from the Governor's office, and the school, "LIVE TELEVISION, NOT THE INTERNET, GOT IT NOW ?????
Now you can ramble on, I've told you what was said, if you don't like it, I don't blame you. But I've got things to do, right now, see ya later !!!

Saban, Petrino & now, Rich Rod !!!!!!!! Bye !!!

Plus 1 - don't be a d-bag. Check your "sources" again. It's extremely clear (with quotes from WVU player's parents for chrissakes) that RichRod told his team at their 1:30pm team meeting that he was leaving. He never told them he was staying.

Plus 1...you're a freakin' idiot! If it's on ESPN, it will be on ESPN.com moron! This Rich Rod stuff is big news. Although, I'm sure they only want the REAL news to be on LIVE TV, right???

Everyone here is getting tired of your nonsense! Nobody is going to take your word for anything! So you better start ponying up with some links to back up your drivel.

"LIVE TELEVISION, NOT THE INTERNET, GOT IT NOW ?????
Wait a minute...was it sources close to Herbstreit that said this stuff??? Never mind then.

By the way...I gave you actual links to articles that don't support any of what you're saying and all you can give me is "LIVE TELEVISION, NOT THE INTERNET, GOT IT NOW ????? I guess you got me on that...huh???
