....Michigan is a great program with a tradition, but they said on ESPN, that he decided to take the Michigan job, "Because he was fighting with the "powers that be," at West Virginia".
Now that's a lousy reason to take the Michigan job, and leave your players that were depending on you, to take them into a tough BCS bowl game against Oklahoma.
It makes one wonder, if he ever takes Michigan to a Big bowl, will he be there to see them through it ?

Haha - you are really rattled, aren't you? Its too late, RR is here, and all of your silly negative campaigning against him is futile.

Michigan traded up from a stagnant dinosaur to a progressive, innovative upstart. Spin it all you want, OSU trolls, but things just got a hell of a lot better in Ann Arbor, and all of your sniveling isn't going to change it.

The more negativity I read regarding RR from Columbus, the more excited and optimistic I am getting! Merry Christmas, Wolverine fans!

"I plan to retire here."

That's all I needed to hear him say.

Just don't get angry when he leaves in a few years for the NFL. You will get in return the loyalty you would expect from a guy outside the program that was your 4th or 5th choice.

You can tell from his press conference that he has no idea how big the Ohio State / Michigan game is. Then again he just lost to his biggest rival at home with a NC berth on the line. I would say he is a perfect fit for Michigan.

i love it. now he's a great coach, but not loyal and is going to leave.

big yawn.

you guys can point to all you like, but the fact is, michigan is going to throw something at OSU that they haven't seen before.

It might take a year or 2... it might not.. but the end product is going to be a NC.. that's all that matters.

if he comes here and wins one in 3-4 years and goes, i wish him well and thank him for stomping on the f*eyes while he was here.

Just don't get angry when he leaves in a few years for the NFL.

He was just hired yesterday - his departure is not exactly looming. Nice try, though.

Then again he just lost to his biggest rival at home with a NC berth on the line.

RR is coaching a team that typically recruits between 30-50 nationally. WV gets the Pennsylvania / Ohio scraps. With that he has fielded a team that has finished in the top 10 the past few years (and beat an SEC team in a bowl).

With Michigan he will have a top 5-15 recruiting class every year. The sky is the limit.

This isn't true. Because I never expect much out of Plus 1's post...and always end up disappointed anyway!

Yep. For sheer volume of posts 1NUTCASE is the biggest douche bag in the world but Plus 1 rivals him for stupidity and bullsh!t per post.

So, I guess Tressel will be leaving any year now huh.

Wonder if Tressel will ever hit a player in the throat during a game causing on onfield riot.

Oh Gesh!!!!! give it a friggin rest, all of you. Let the man prove himself. He's got some major work to do and alot of fixing up in a program that will be back to greatness within the next two years of so. Just sit back and watch tosu fans start to sweat with the vast improvements about to roll out.

Reality Check: He hasn't even been to a practice and you guys are already winning a NC, Rich Rodriguez must truly be the greatest coach in college football. While he may have gotten the "scraps" at WV, he was also in a severely weak conference, and this is the same guy who laid an egg against Pittsburgh in their biggest moment. And please, before you bring up "BUT ILLINOIS!!" look at where Illinois is ranked, and take a look at Pittsburgh for a moment.

That aside, he should do well at Michigan, and you should be excited, but this wild, blind optimism needs a ceiling and some limitations or you're going to be sorely disappointed.

Funny thing about the osu trolls who come here. Christ himself could have been named Michigan coach and the trolls would find a way to say something negative. No matter who was named coach they would come out and say something negative.

I am looking forward to next year and seeing a slim and fast looking team taking the field with a different attitude.

Script,

I'm not blindly optimistic, but I do think RR will have a better record than 1-6 vs. Sweater Vest and 1-6 in his final 7 bowl games.

Clearly, Tressel is an outstanding coach. But, he has exactly as many NCs as Lloyd. He also benefited from a terrible UM coaching staff the last few years. At least we know that we won't have such a mismatch anymore.

In fairness, I think our rivalry will be more exciting than anything since Bo and Earle in the 1980's.

Hey OSU whiners

If he was going to the NFL he would have already.
His offense that "he knows" will not work in the NFL.

Thats what they said about Petrino and the old ball coach. If he could leave his alma-mater high and dry - he could leave Michigan.

Man are the trolls rattled

No doubt. 2 days into the RR era and we are supposed to worry when the guy leaves? Yeah, I'm losing a lot of sleep over that...
