This program... has slowly degraded into a national embarassment.

I'm not panicking quite yet. But... I live in DC, where on sports radio, they talk about Redskins football 24/7. There isn't another team locally that comes close to mattering.

But here's their comment this morning..."If anyone feels like taking the University of Michigan Head Football Coach position, just give us a call. Anyone at all.." followed by a couple chuckles and moving on to the next topic.

Its virtually impossible to get these people to talk anything other than redskins all day. They hang up on Cowboy fans... but they managed to find time to make fun of Michigan.

The past 2 years have been a joke. Losing in a game that was never truly truly close to OSU last year... getting embarassed in the Rose Bowl.. followed by losing to Appalachian State.. followed by a BLOWOUT to Oregon (good or not is irrelevent). Then another weak display against OSU... the retiring of Carr... the Miles Temper Tantrum... the spurning of Michigan by the "top candidates"...

just sucks. times will get good again... but.. hopefully sooner than later

Oh come on!! I'll give you Monday morning hugs! With the exception of this year, Michigan football has been right on.......pretty much. I'm glad Carr is out of there so you guys can hold your head up high again. Michigan football will be back. One thing good about this season. You can always say "At least we're not Notre Dame!"

Go that Team up North! Beat the Gators!
Go Bucks!!

Well, its just falling short of very high expectations. Its not all doom and gloom.. but there hasn't been a ray of sunshine for us in a long time. We keep setting ourselves up for great things, but then never follow through.

(Last year @OSU)
(Thsi year, 1 game away from beating OSU and winning Big 10).

Coming up short .. just like Carr on a 3rd and 3 throwing a WR screen that gets under thrown by henne... which is a good thing as manningham gets lit up on the sideline.

Compound the fact that our basketball has been a joke for the last 10 years and it's easy to see that the entire athletic dept is slowly rotting from the inside out. Things are going to get much worse before they get better and pretty soon Norte Dame will be saying "well at least we're not Michigan"

ND football has been a joke for quite sometime. Without looking it up, I believe they haven't won a bowl game in 13 years. Well, make it 14 after this year. They're in deeper do-do than anybody.

With that said, and I've made this statement over and over recently...we were playing for the Big Ten title at the end of the season, we're playing the defending National Champs and the current Heisman winner on New Year's Day....If this is as bad as it gets...then I say we're gonna be alright!

I also believe, that when the coaching search is finalized, all the pieces will fall into place and we'll understand why it went the way it did. Be patient, good things come to those that wait!

How's that for "the glass is half full?"

GO BLUE!!!

Toad If this is as bad as it gets...then I say we're gonna be alright!

The problem with that is that U of M vs Florida is a huge mismatch. We are gonna get killed & still wont have the satisfaction of knowing we will be ok the next year with a new coach. I've tried to stay optimistic this year but this coaching search has pushed me over the edge. We have become the laughing stock of college football. I'm so sick of people poking fun of Michigan's over inflated ego of thinking that we could have our pick of any coach in the country & every time you turn around someone else has rejected us. BM needs to quit making phonie offers - he's making us look stupid & desperate. I would agree that there is probably more going on that we will find out about later - they are just making us look like fools in the meantime

I agree that UM is the underdog. But, here's the great thing about football...it will get settled on the field. I say Michigan will surprise a few people. It's Lloyd's final game, which gives some motivation. Also, many key players who were banged up through the year should be healthy. So, I think we'll see a better brand of football from this Wolverine team.

I'm excited about the match up! I think Michigan has zero to lose here. Look for a great game.

We are gonna get killed & still wont have the satisfaction of knowing we will be ok the next year with a new coach.

Remember when you were a little kid and you couldn't wait for Christmas morning? Then it came and went and everything got back to normal. All the stuff you got, that you were so anxious to receive, in time just became normal everyday stuff and the anticipation and excitement that you once felt faded away.

That's how it's going to be when Michigan gets its new coach. Right now it seems that we've been waiting a lifetime. But, when it's all said and done...we'll forget about all of this and it will be life as usual. Don't freak out...again, I think when this thing is over, everything will make sense!

[b][Toad/b] Thanks for the different view. I will still be nervous till the next season starts to see how we perform with the new coach. It wont end with the hiring of the HC.

I'm not really factoring in that this is Lloyds last game as factor. I thought Bo dying before The Game would have been a factor last year - but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong - it was a great game regardless of the outcome. I just thought it would've been the extra something to motivate us.

People are overlooking the fact that not having Hart and Henne 100% healthy played a lot into our demise at years end. These two are going to have a huge chip on their shoulder. I think we'll have a decent shot at beating Florida.

Ok, now when I say this, I am NOT bashing, I'm just saying. So please, if you're going to throw anything at me, I like Toffee Hersey Kisses But here goes........

Just because if you bring in a new choreographer doesn't mean your dancers are going to step up & dance it beautifully.

This saying, the team itself is really going to have to dig deep & leap over the hurdles that are already set for them. I think Michigan has the talent now & the talent coming in, but with so much negativity going around from the press & the fans, it's going to rough. My meaning in all this is the players have to step up as well. Coaching & call playing can only go so far. It's up to the players to execute & make the decisions when they have the ball.

I guess things could be worse, Real women wear Maize N Blue.

You could have went to Ohio State! People poke fun of what they think is Michigan's over inflated ego because 1) They really deep down want to be Michigan fans and 2) They probably could not cut it getting into Michigan or got in and did not want to challenge themselves, so they went to Ohio State...Coaches do not want to come to Michigan because the AD is offering low $$ and asking the candidate to take a high risk HC job. Look at Schiano he probably figures, he can win 7-8 games at Rutgers year in and year out. Maybee he will make around 1 million less at Rutgers than at Michigan but if he goes 5-7 one year at Rutgers he probably gets to keep his job. We want competitors, not chumps like Schiano!

i dont know why everyone assumes that there would be added incentive.

the players knew lloyd was out before the OSU game... and it didn't make any difference at all. why would they care now...?

most have checked out already. its been 8 months since they played.
