I think this guy would be great. I think he now has to have a pretty good chance. UM doesnt need a big name we already got that

Boise St's, Chris Peterson is supposed to be talking to UCLA. Have'nt heard how much interest there is on either side, yet.

Brian Kelly's name is still floating around at Nebraska, {Bo Pellini, looked like he was in, but is not signed yet.} Arkansas has an interest too.

How about another "BO", at Michigan ?

I mentioned half way through the season that I thought he should be the leading candidate.

I've talked some about him, after the Miles debacle he became my #1 candidate. He has obviously shown he can do more with less talent.

Off the List:
Miles
Schiano
Tedford (he's not going to leave the west coast)
Johnson
Peyton
Kelly (all signs point to him staying at Cincy)

Left on the list:
Ron English
Mike DeBord
Brady Hoke

...are you effing serious!?!?

For all the Chuck Martin Nay-sayers, you better jump on the band wagon while you still can. He'd be GREAT for the Michigan program... bottom line. Michigan needs to go after someone like him... Michigan seems to want a YOUNG successful coach, who won't break the bank with his salary requirements. Michigan can offer him an incentive-laden contract. Chuck Martin is extremely successful in DII and i believe he'll have the ability to have the same success at Michigan.

"Any time you go after a top coach at another school who's already making over a million dollars, you're going to pay a lot of money," said another regent emeritus, Muskegon attorney James L. Waters. "There are many coaches out there around the country that could do as good or a better job at less money" -- citing Brian Kelly of Cincinnati, Chuck Martin of Grand Valley State and Butch Jones of Mid-American Conference champ Central Michigan.

"You can get someone like that probably for half the money you'd pay Miles -- even less, probably a third. I don't think I've seen any black coaches mentioned, either. I know there's a lot of top assistants out there, there's some in the pros that would do a good job.

"I think we're missing out on a lot of good people, and for a lot less money."

I think he's absolutely right... Only problem is that M has an AD that doesn't seen to like sports. I.E. we're SCREWED.

Before the season I thought as I did prior to 97, if Michigan did not have a huge season Carr would be out. After the first two games of this season it was clear that this team was not prepared for those games. The rest of the season seemed to be aimed at saving face for Carr. I mentioned Peterson after the Fiesta saying what fresh thinking would be like in Ann Arbor. I think the guy woulddo wonders with the talent left on offense. His play calling is inovative and not predictable, totally opposite of what we have seen ever since Mo left.

I often wonder how well Mo would have done at Michigan had he been liked by the administration/boosters and been able to stay off the bottle while in public.
