I was ok with the AD letting two well qualified coaches slip through their grasp. I knew there where other coaches out there. But this one just really makes me mad. Schiano was perfect for the job and I would have been more happy with him then I would have with Les.

After defending our AD thus far, I'm going to have switch sides after this missed opportunity.

I would be even happier with Tedford, Gruden or Peterson, but would have been just as happy with Schiano.

Schiano is OK, but the guy went 7-5 in the BE in a year when they were supposed to be good. I am OK with a proven winner from a lower level. We don't need a guy who can build a program out of nothing, like Schiano did. We need somebody to bring some innovation to a program that has, and always will have, legitimate talent.

Open up the O, and give the ball to Mallett. He won't fumble the snap when you put him in the shotgun. Let the kid sling the ball around and see what happens.

thankfully we did not get schiano. he doesnt even run a spread offense. That is what we really need. A spread mixed in with the triple option. We need a running quarterback. Why arnt we going after Brian Kelly? He is a great fit. Much better than any other coach unless we can get les.

Why does this seem like no one wants to be a part of the winningest program in college football? You would think that guys like Schiano, Kelly, and Peterson would be begging BM for the chance just to be interviewed for the job. What real future do they have where they are that could possibly be better than being in Ann Arbor?

Question: If Martin is forced out, who becomes AD?

I disagree we don't need the spread. I think we should use the spread as a change of pace, but to use it full time is not something that you need to do be successful. Just because we have difficulty stopping it doesn't mean its the greatest thing ever.

Do you really want the spread and option in AA. You guys have already seen what happens when you put all your eggs in one basket (Mike Hart) and then that person gets hurt. Look at Oregon and West Virgina - once the QB got hurt the team was horrible. Why would you not want a offense sort of like Ohio State runs where you can run the ball if you have to yet still go 4 and 5 wide at times but not exclusivly. The teams that seem to run the spread only have not had overall or long lasting sucess.

I agree with 1OSUNUT. We don't want the spread exclusively, we want a coach who combines elements of several offensive styles. Haven't we always asked that they mix it up?

because much of that winning came pre-wwII and when you're talking about recruits and coaches those
are the types of people who are looking at the future.

Don't go blowing all this shiiit around about the OSU offense. This year you can't throw the ball. Bonzi Wells goes down and you are fuucked. LSU keys up on the run, stops Wells, and.......

Oh, wait. That is what is GOING to happen to OSU in a month.

Life is going to suck for the buck.

Oh, FUUUCK!

Look at where we are this year in a rebuilding year - playing for a national championship. we were picked to finish fourth in our own conference jack@ss. We may win or we may lose. We are in the bowl game that you guys thought you would be in this year. Next year Michigan rebuilds. Do you think you can replace 85% of your offense like Ohio State did and go to the NC game next year - I don't. That is the difference. We rebuild and are still an elite team, you guys will rebuild and be .500. I love the fact that everybody is putting us down - they are also on the outside looking in.

BlueGoo:

Based on the state of your program on and off the field I would not be saying crap about Ohio State. Worry about your pathetic coaching search.

THATS SO FUNNY, BECAUSE I BET YOU WERE ONE OF THE ONES CRYING WHEN OSU HIRED TRESSEL AFTER YOUR TURN DOWNS BY CHUCKY AND BELOTTI! BUT YOUR PROBABLY TO PROUD TO ADMIT THAT? YAH YOU RULED THE BIG 10 THIS YEAR BUT IF OHIO STATE WAS IN THE SEC YOU WOULD BE A 4 OR 5 LOSS TEAM AND THAT DOES NOT QUALIFY YOU AS AN ELITE TEAM!!! BUT KEEP DREAMING IF YOU WANT

OMAZENBLUE:

If you would do some research and have someone read my posts for you would would know by now what I thought of Tressel. Ohio State is not in the Big Ten so its not an issue. I guess that means if Michigan was in the SEC they would not win a conference game. Say waht you want but its Ohio State going the the big game two years in a row, not USC, Florida,Oklahoma, Texas, etc. I know it kills you Michigan people but Ohio State is elite with no signs of getting weak. By the way how is the search for a coach going .............

I guess replacing basically the whole defense isn't rebuilding? A lot of guys were hurt on O so the young guys did play a lot. So wouldn't this year sort of be a rebuilding year for Michigan also?

Also, I'm not dumb, and I know everyone thought that the O would pull them through but they didn't. People have to step back and look at the year. The BIG SENIORS didn't get UM to the Championship like they were expected to. The younger guys did step up.

Really? I don't remember hearing any announcement stating they left, I guess I need to pay more attention to my CFB.

Didn't we hear that about your basketball team too? "We reload, we don't rebuild". "We have new practice facilities, we can't be beat", "Blah blah blah"
